Fun Friday: A Christmas Giveaway

Since my new Christmas novel, The Christmas Present, hits stores on Tuesday, I thought I'd take this chance to run a quick Christmas contest. Leave me a comment on your favorite part of the holiday season and you'll be entered to win a copy of my very first book, A Christmas Wedding, as well as a five dollar giftcard to Starbucks for the Holiday drink of your choice. My favorite Starbucks Holiday drink: the Pumpkin Latte. Yum!

  1. My favorite part of the holidays is watching my grandkids' eyes light up when they open their presents. Especially the 6 and 4 year old. They still believe in the magic of Christmas and I think it makes the holiday so much more fun. This year we have my miracle granddaughter to be thankful for so it will be a wonderful family celebration. She's still kind of small, but she is growing little by little. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season.

  2. I love watching my 3 and 6 year old too, Linda. It's amazing, isn't it? My oldest is now too cool to get excited over Xmas, but he occassionally slips. Congrats on your granddaughter-- I'm glad she's doing well.

  4. Ohhhhh... I love this kinda contest!
First let me say that in my house, if you do not believe you do not receive! =)
So, ask my 16 yr old if she still believes in Santa and she will tell you of course! So, my favorite time of the holiday is talking Santa talk with her. Asking what she wants from Santa. Her bff knows do not mess with "mama - me" about Santa. You better believe if you want to receive! The sheer magic of the holidays, the true meaning of what it is... the birth of our Savior. What a precious gift!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend Tracy!

  5. I love it all! Family, baking, shopping, the cold weather, decorating, etc, etc. Looking forward to hosting this year and not travelling, though. :)

  6. Suburban prep, my mother is a champion Xmas decorator-- seriously. Three trees, an entire village with a train, mistletoe and more nativity sets and decorations than you can possibly imagine. It used to take a whole day for us to decorate (and to put the stuff away).

Cecile-- me 2. My oldest tried to pull the Santa's not real routine at about 9 and I shut that down very quickly.

Fang stories-- I love shopping at anytime! And baking. Once my mom makes it down for the holidays, we back 15-20 different kinds of cookies to give to my neighbors. They love when she comes down!

  7. Hi, Tracy! My favorite part of the season is definitely the time set aside to hang out with family and friends--it's a treat to get to catch up and enjoy being with each other. I know it ought to be more of a priority the rest of the year, but at least we do at Christmas and it's sweet indeed!

  8. Tough question, as it's difficult to narrow down with so many great things about the season. Since you asked about the season and not the actual day, I'll say I like having the Christmas tree lights on during the daytime hours. I watch every penny all year long, especially with hydro wastage, but this is my present to myself. If I had a fireplace, it would be perfect, as I love curling up with a good book in a darkened room lit by the Christmas tree lights.

  9. My favorite part of the Holiday season is the giving of things and yourself in different ways whether it be decorating, baking or gift giving. I love the fact that it makes people bring out their very best; they stop, reflect, rethink. I love the warmth that comes with the cold and the renewed appreciation and perspective. It is a fresh start, new beginning........a rebirth for a short period of time, but filled with hope
